I have a rare opportunity to connect with John Jantsch of Duct Tape Marketing in a Q-and-A session. John is an expert small business coach who has published two best selling books, Duct Tape Marketing and The Referral Engine.
The Q-and-A session is practically on John’s involvement with The UPS Store’s Print Madness Promotion, hosting a chat session on The UPS Store Facebook page that lets small business owners ask questions and get valuable small business marketing advices from John. The chat session has already completed 2 weeks ago, but this little Q-and-A session can give you an idea or two about John Jantsch and his involvement with The UPS Store in helping small business owners to reach their goals better.
Ivan: John, we know who you are :) But just in case our readers say, “John, who?” please share with us a bit about you – who are you and what do you do?
John: I’ve been a small business owner for over 20 years now. I currently own Duct Tape Marketing, a marketing consulting firm that provides simple, effective and affordable small business marketing. I’ve also written 2 best selling books, Duct Tape Marketing and The Referral Engine, with a third book, The Commitment Engine, coming out in September of this year.
Ivan: Please tell us about your partnership with the UPS Store – why did you decide to join hands with the company and what outcome do you expect from the Facebook live chat session you will do (have done on March 13th, 2012 – ed.) on UPS Store’s Facebook page.
John: The UPS Store wanted to help small businesses through one of their promotions, while having a bit of fun during the NCAA basketball tournament. I will always jump at the chance to help educate and improve small businesses through a channel that makes sense. If we can spark conversation around helping small businesses grow during The UPS Store’s Facebook Chat then we will have succeed in our goal. The bonus of this event is that we get to give away a product I truly believe in, that I think can help a few lucky small business owners as well as give away tickets to go see Kansas win the NCAA (Kansas won the first game, by the way – ed.).
Ivan: What’s your plan for the future – for your very own entrepreneurial journey and for the small business community?
John: We will continue to try and reach more and more small business owners with our message of marketing as a system through books, online seminars, our consultants and live and in person workshops.
